TEAM LEADERS

The Backpack Team Leader oversees the setup and distribution of backpacks to children: preschool though teenagers. 

Type of person ideal for this position: Person who can manage large groups of volunteers and organize backpacks.

The Children's Shoe Team Leader oversees the setup and distribution of shoes to children: toddlers through teenagers.

Type of person ideal for this position: Person who can manage large groups of volunteers and organize shoes.

Type of person ideal for this position: A lead pastor, and those with relationships/connections in other churches. Also important is this person's ability to gather a team of pastors to focus on post-event strategies.

The Food Services team obtains, prepares and serves food and beverages to guests and volunteers.

Type of person ideal for this position: A caterer or person capable of serving large groups of people and managing volunteers.

The Groceries team unpacks pallets, bags groceries, stocks grocery distribution tables, and distributes groceries to guests in conjunction with the National Groceries Director.

Type of person ideal for this position: Person who can manage large groups of volunteers and organize assembly lines.

Guest Services provides event information at the site entrance, counts the numbers of guests, distributes food coupons, and provides help around the site.

Type of person ideal for this position: Someone who easily engages with strangers and is able to manage others.

The Haircuts team recruits licensed, professional barbers and hairstylists to provide free haircuts to the guests at the event: children and adults.

Type of person ideal for this position: A licensed stylists/barber who can relate to and recruit other licensed professionals.

The Health Services team provides medical, dental, and vision services and education. 

Type of person ideal for this position: Someone who has previous experience coordinating local health fairs. Also helpful is someone who has connections with the medical community to recruit their involvement.

The kids Zone team plans, coordinates, and oversees all aspects of the Kids Zone area. This area is designed to create a fun and safe experience for kids to enjoy with their families.

Type of person ideal for this position: A children's pastor is a good starting point. Also helpful is a person who can work with and mobilize other children's ministry workers.

The Logistics team obtains much of the equipment and supplies needed for the event. In addition, this team recruits site setup and cleanup volunteers, and oversees all site setup and cleanup responsibilities. 

Type of person ideal for this position: Previous construction and/or procurement background is a plus, ability to manage large groups of people during setup and teardown, ability to work with others.

The Marketing/Public Relations (PR) Team Leader plans and implements all event promotion and communication.

Type of person ideal for this position: A person connected in the media market and understands basic marketing strategies.. Owner/manager of a radio station, newspaper or TV station would be ideal.

The Safety team works to ensure the overall safety of guests, volunteers, and grounds during setup, event, and cleanup.

Type of person ideal for this position: Someone with previous safety (police, military) experience with connections to the community police force. Also important is the ability to work well with others.

The Story Gatherer Team Leader will manage all story gathering activities the day of the event. 

Type of person ideal for this position: Someone who is outgoing, engaging, and able to talk easily with complete strangers.

The Veterans Services team recruits local organizations and agencies offering helpful free services and resources to veterans and their families who participate in the community event. We honor our veterans by providing services that address their specific needs. 

Type of person ideal for this position: A veteran who is familiar with the local Veterans organizations.

The Volunteer Services Team Leader recruits, communicates and manages all volunteer activities before and during the event including the volunteer services area and t-shirt distribution.

Type of person ideal for this position: A veteran who is familiar with the local Veterans organizations.
